Rock and roll. New York City in the late 1970's. The Palladium, CBGB's, summer nights in Central Park. Lou Reed, David Bowie and Iggy Pop, Talking Heads, Blondie. I’d shoot a show for the record companies or do it on spec for magazines and there was always someone new and exciting to photograph. So much energy! Sheri Lynn Behr began working as a professional photographer in the music industry in 1977. She shot on assignment for many major recording companies such as RCA, Arista, Chrysalis and Atlantic, and her photographs appeared in most music publications of the time, including Rolling Stone, Circus, Billboard and Creem.
Beginning in the mid-1990's, the photographs have been been exhibited several times on the internet, as well as at Orbit Gallery, NJ in 2003. |
